




In prepartion of the Orientation to Technology class that is required of high school freshmen, students at LJHS are taught the entrance skills needed to be successful in the class.
The following keyboarding and business application lessons are taught within the content of regular classes and are aligned with the recommendations of the Illinois Business Education Association. For more information regarding the keyboarding skills taught in District #27, see the IBEA site. Students are offered the opportunity in the Spring of their 8th grade school year to take an OTT Proficiency test. Students who pass both portions of the test will be waived from the OTT class and will instead be enrolled in a more advanced Document Design class.

Students will be expected to know how to format all papers assigned at LJHS for Language Arts in MLA format. In order to properly format these papers, student can use the following guidelines for Word 2003.
It is a goal of District #27, that all students be able to pass the proficiency test offered by LCHS to 8th grade students. In order to pass this test, they must be able to type 30 wpm with 3 or fewer errors and correctly set up the word documents listed above.
